Collective Bargaining

On May 1, 2021 Virginia’s public sector collective bargaining law took effect.

Collective bargaining is a historic opportunity for Virginias school employees to gain a seat at the table. Many Virginians from across the state fought long and hard to win public sector bargaining rights and now the work is on winning collective bargaining for NPS employees!

Once we have won collective bargaining, the next step is to begin negotiations with the district. What is negotiated when we get to the table is based from what you, the members want!

Common items that are negotiated in public school collective bargaining agreements (CBA) include salary/pay, class size, planning time, and much more—It is the members like you who inform and guide priorities!
