NFT represents all contracted, non-administrative certified and classified Norfolk Public Schools employees. We are office managers, custodians, paraprofessionals, counselors, media specialists, security officers, teachers, and much more.

NFT In Action

As NFT members, we organize to make our schools better by putting pressure on NPS and our elected officials, and lobbying local and state government for policies that directly affect educators and students.

 

NFT members are fighting to strengthen educator voices in the school system through measures like collective bargaining.NFT supports pro-education, pro-worker candidate during local and state elections.

The staff at NFT continue to work hard to represent, support and advocate for the educators and school staff working for Norfolk Public Schools, whether they are NFT members or not. I wish I had been more engaged with NFT as a newer special educator working for the division in the early 2000’s. I might have felt less overwhelmed and alone when I was making the tough decision to take FMLA or quit working. I’m grateful to know now that NFT is a valuable resource for teachers and support staff, now more than ever.

NPS employees deserve to have their voices heard, and NFT works hard to make that happen. The union members lead the change!
